Its busy a super hot and extremely busy Summer for me here at Freshest Fishing! Ive had a heap of great people hit the water with me and found plenty of good fishing along the way! I must say a huge, yet belated thank you and merry xmas & happy new year to everyone who has been for a fish and supported me so far – its been fantastic! As many of you may know, I’m still working full time at the tackle shop and getting people out on the water every spare moment or day off I get, so its been a very busy last few months but I’m not planning to slow up. I’ll still be available almost every weekend unless already booked, and mid-week trips can be arrange with a few weeks notice!
I’ve been spending a lot of time on the Bello and Kalang systems and the fishing has been good most days – some days are tougher than others but the fish are always about somewhere. Theres been lots of great flathead around and we’ve managed a few 70cm models to come on board Mirag’in the last few weeks, with plenty of smaller ones in between.
There have been hoards of good bream around as well, both down around the walls but also further up the rivers – those fish up the rivers have been great fun on topwater, with plenty of fish willing to fight over a lure if you can put it in the right spot – very fun fishing!
There are still good numbers of jew moving in and out of the rivers too, sometimes you can be in the right place at the right time, but most of the time we’ve needed to be patient and either search around a bit or wait for the fish to pass through likely spots – they are around but can be tricky!
Theres also been a bit of other action, getting out and chasing muddies before christmas was popular for quite a few people, and we managed some nice feeds! It can be a little bit extra hard work crabbing but the catches this year have definitely been worth it.
Thanks again everyone for supporting Freshest Fishing Tours – I will keep hitting the water every chance I get so give me a call if you want to see if we can line up and try to find some fish!
